As with any treatment, no one treatment is a cure all, this is where my expertise becomes most apparent. As specialists in only Foot, Ankle, Leg and Knee injuries, we can fully treat and rehabilitate the most chronic overuse problems, with a pin point multifaceted approach.
The initial ause of the complaint requires investigation and appropriate patient selection.
As a first line option in reducing chronic heel pain, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonsosis, Patella Tendonitis, Shin Splints and many other injuries, Shockwave Therapy is a treatment that I would personally choose each and every time for these medical issues.
The ease of application, non invasive nature and lack of any realistic side effects commend medical shockwave use. No other treatment has proven this singularly effective within my daily practice. Shockwave therapy used in conjunction with other treatment, cures over 90% of Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles Tendonosis and Patella Tendonosis by around 90%.

How Does Shockwave Therapy Work?
Shockwave therapy has been used in medical settings for many years for treating kidney stones and similar. Quite literally a high energy sound wave is created and pushed through the soft tissue site by a hand piece. Upto 2500 shocks are applied rapidly, with very special settings that control frequency and force. The Foot Doctors Shockwave Therapy Centre, here in Telford, uses the latest equipment for consistent results. Several different applicators are used to work on injuries at various depths, as deep as 5cm, or as shallow as the skin. This form of treatment is far more common place in Europe and Australia within the healthcare service.
The shockwaves create increased blood flow, decreased pain chemicals and increased reabsorption of calcified or damaged scar tissue. The treatment can effectively REMOVE SPURS on Heels and in Shoulders, without the need for surgery!
Here is an example of bony calcification being removed with Shockwave treatment.
